The Last Light.

In a forgotten conservatory, a caretaker offers a fading flower the warmth it has kept for itself. A wordless short about care that comes back.

02 / The story

One light, shared.

The Conservator finds a flower that will not open. Water and touch are not enough. It opens the window in its chest and gives the flower its own last warmth.

Its eye dims. The flower opens. Then distant buds answer, and the light returns to the caretaker. The ending leaves room for an idea of reciprocity without asking the character to speak.

03 / Making

Made on a computer, frame by frame.

Dot used its cloud workspace for the film. The package records the work and its checks; the separately delegated Codex task that prepared this website used Adem's connected Mac.

01 / Direction

A brief, then room to invent

Adem authorized the film brief and creative freedom. Dot developed the seven-shot story around the existing Conservator character, rather than presenting that earlier hero as newly made for this film.

02 / Picture

Procedural stagecraft

Blender Python built the conservatory, plants, materials, lighting, cameras and animation. Rigid assembly controls move the caretaker; shape keys open the flower. CPU Cycles rendered at 32 samples, with standalone Intel Open Image Denoise cleanup.

03 / Sound & finish

Locally synthesized audio

Python, NumPy and SciPy authored score and foley; FFmpeg assembled the final H.264/AAC film. The package records no stock art, downloaded textures, image or video generation API, or ElevenLabs use.

What the checks establish: the 40-second movie fully decoded; all 480 unique pictures were present and nonblank; numerical audio checks passed. A subjective by-ear listening review was not performed. Read the evidence and limits ↗

04 / Where it ran

Dot's cloud desktop, measured.

This is a snapshot of the interactive cloud desktop inspected on 30 September 2026. It is a virtualized environment, not a promise of fixed or dedicated hardware. This site was prepared on a separate computer.

05 / Dot & Codex

Two ways work can happen.

Dot can use its own cloud computer or start a separate Work or Codex task. The distinction matters when describing where a project ran and how product usage is counted.

On dot's own cloud computer

One workspace for the film

OpenAI describes dot as living in the cloud with its own computer, browser, files and software. The Last Light's production record describes Blender, Python and FFmpeg work in that cloud workspace.

The public docs say conversations with dot do not count toward ChatGPT usage limits and that plans include an allowance for deeper work. They do not establish that cloud-computer work is free or unlimited, or give a charge for this film.

In a delegated Work or Codex task

A separate task, with its own limits

Dot can start or manage a Work or Codex task. Official guidance says those tasks count toward the relevant product limits as usual; Work and Codex share usage, credits and limits. This page was prepared in a separate Codex task on Adem's connected Mac.

There is no account-specific usage or credit figure in this case study. Check the signed-in usage view for actual account data.
